Call of Duty Zombies Browser — Compare Zombies Games and Classic Maps

If you are looking for Call of Duty Zombies in a browser, the first choice is not a map. It is the build. The widely discussed BO1 project reports a ten-map menu. Other fan projects rebuild a single familiar map or invent their own Zombies-style experience. They share a theme and almost nothing else: different systems, different controls, different technical requirements.

Quick answer

Start with the BO1 Zombies browser project if you want the classic sequence of rounds and a choice of familiar maps. If you want something lighter or more experimental, compare the standalone Kino, Moon or Zombies-inspired projects on their own. A project appearing on this page is not proof that it can be hosted or framed.

Every project here is an unofficial fan build. None of them is a browser edition of Call of Duty released by Activision or Treyarch, and none of them is a substitute for the others.

The main BO1 Zombies browser project

Recent reporting lists Kino der Toten, Five, Ascension, Call of the Dead, Shangri-La, Moon, Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa and Der Riese as the classic maps presented in its menu. In round-based Zombies you survive successive waves, open routes and spend the points you earn on equipment and mobility. The original BO1 content is established; every function inside a fan browser build still needs its own verification.

    Round-based Zombies

The project behind most of the current interest: the classic rounds-and-points mode, with ten familiar maps to pick from in one menu.

Standalone Kino and Moon projects

Some web projects rebuild Kino der Toten or Moon without including the full BO1 catalogue. A single-map remake may use a different rendering engine or a different control method from the ten-map project, and it may be missing doors, weapons or optional steps. These get their own cards only where a project source can be identified and the gameplay is genuinely distinct — they are not interchangeable backup links for the multi-map port.

    Standalone Zombies

A single-map fan remake. It is a separate project from the ten-map port and is not interchangeable with it.

Zombies-inspired and custom maps

Public browser lists also include custom Zombies projects such as Cheese Cube and Nazi Zombies: Portable. Some take inspiration from Call of Duty without reproducing Black Ops 1 at all. They are shown under their own identity because describing them as a version of the original game would attract readers who are looking for something these projects do not contain.

    Standalone Zombies

A long-running standalone Zombies project. It is inspired by the mode rather than being a port of the Black Ops 1 one.

Compare what each project actually offers

The same fields for every project, so a difference is visible instead of being buried in a description. An unestablished capability reads as not verified rather than as a no.

How Zombies differs from a Black Ops browser FPS

Zombies is a survival loop. You balance round pressure against ammunition, map access and upgrades, and the run ends when you do. A BO2-inspired browser FPS is a match loop: you chase kills, move through a competitive arena and respond to bots or opponents, and the round ends on its own terms.

The distinction matters because somebody searching for a COD Zombies browser game is not looking for a deathmatch, even one set on a map they recognise. If you want the match loop, it has its own page with its own mode, controls and status.

Choose a Zombies game using five practical checks

The order matters: a project that fails an earlier check will not be rescued by a later one.

  1. Mode — round-based waves, a custom survival format, or something else entirely.
  2. Map scope — one experimental map, or a menu of ten.
  3. Input — keyboard and mouse, a gamepad, or touch controls that are actually implemented.
  4. Technical status — did anyone reach gameplay, or only the title screen.
  5. Rights and distribution — framed with permission, opened at the project's own site, or supplied from files you licensed yourself.

What if a Zombies game will not load?

Do not switch projects assuming the cause is the same in each one. Note the project address, your browser, your device and the exact wording of the error first. A stalled asset download is a different problem from an unsupported graphics API, and a frame that is refused for shared-memory reasons is a different problem again. The Help Centre separates those cases and sends you to the one that matches.

Frequently asked questions

+Is COD Zombies Browser one official game?

No. It is a search phrase covering a set of browser-based fan projects and remakes, not a single officially released browser edition.

+Does the BO1 browser version include ten maps?

Independent reporting describes a ten-map menu. That is a claim about what the menu lists, not proof that every map and every optional mechanic has passed our own play test.

+Are Kino and Moon the same build as BO1 Zombies?

Not necessarily. Standalone projects are usually separate codebases from the multi-map BO1 port, with their own controls and their own behaviour.

+Can I play Zombies with friends online?

Co-op belongs to a specific build. The most discussed BO1 project is described as single-player. Other engines may support different modes, but that does not mean the BO1 project gains their features.

+Which map is best for someone new to Zombies?

Kino der Toten is the familiar starting point, but difficulty is subjective. The map directory compares original map design and current browser support as two separate things.

+Can I embed these games on another site?

Only where the project's owner permits it and the game works inside your own deployed frame. A menu appearing inside an iframe does not confirm that a map will load there.
